Fungal Infections
- They can affect many areas of the body (systemic) or an area (localized).
- Primary fungal infections can affect people with a normal immune system
- Opportunistic fungal infections affect people with a weakened immune system (HIV, cancer, drugs that suppress the immune system)
- Typical opportunistic fungal infections include Aspergillosis, Candidiasis and Mucormycosis
- Examples of Primary fungal infections are Histoplasmosis, Blastomycosis, Coccidioidomycosis
